Traditionally, BOW have had little use for live communication, as it's rarely necessary to be online at the same time when playing as a survivor group. However, now with ZBOW and Nexus War, it may be very helpful to coordinate things more instantanously. So how are people's thoughts about creating an Irc channel?
I am for certain no Irc expert, but I should be able create one, at least on NexusNet. Maybe with a password too, if I'm really clever. Does anyone else have more experience with this? Or any alternatives to Irc?

Warning: The following explanation is given by an individual which does not fully grasp the concept it is trying to explain. It is a chat system which creates "channels" (chat rooms) which one can log into and chat with whoever else is on. You have to install a program on your computer which you start up when you want to get on IRC. There are instructions on how to do this here; I followed method number 1; just replace #nexus with #Batards_of_War in step 6. I have opened a channel named Bastards_of_War just to see whether anyone gets on. I actually have no idea if we need to reserve the name or anything. I'm Jokoe on IRC.

Firefox users
I use chatzilla which is a firefox extention. if you run firefox then just finad and install it. set your name and join the NW server listed below. then just search for the channel you want to join. or the methods listed on the NW wiki. Method 1: Install an irc client on your computer. 1. You'll need a client, if you don't already have one. Windows users can use X-Chat (http://www.silverex.org/download/). 2. After you install and launch it, you'll see a window labeled "Server List". 3. Set the nick name(s) you want to be seen as. Then, click the "Add" button. Type in "nexuswar", then click edit. 4. Replace "newserver/6667" with "irc.nexuswar.com". 5. Click the "Connect to this network at startup" check box. 6. Enter "#Batards_of_War" in the "Channels to join" blank. 7. Then click "Close" and double click on the "rrf-academy" network you just added. Method 2: Run a web-based irc client in your browser (requires java) 1. Open www.jpilot.com/products/jirc/demo1.html. 2. Choose your desired nick. 3. Enter #Batards_of_War for the channel. 4. Choose a Real Name (this can be anything you want). 5. Enter irc.nexuswar.com for the server name. 6. Click the button with the green arrow to connect. Method 3: Run a web-based irc client in your browser (does not require java)
1. Open ircatwork.com/. 2. Choose your desired nick 3. Enter #Batards_of_War for the channel 4. Enter irc.nexuswar.com for the server name. 5. Click "login" to connect.
